MARY GLADYS FELLOWS

Mary Gladys Fellows, age 91 of Plymouth, WI passed away Monday morning, Feb. 16, at the Waterford in Plymouth.

She was born August 9, 1923 in Montclair, New Jersey, a daughter of the late Fred and Pauline Wells Metzler.

She attended Montclair Grade Schools and Montclair High School graduating in 1940. Mary also attended Mountside Hospital Nursing School in Montclair, NJ graduating in 1944.

She served in the United States Navy at St. Albins Long Island Naval Hospital from 1944-1945.

On December 29, 1945 she married Arthur E. Fellows at our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in West Orange, N.J. The couple resided in Sheboygan after their marriage, moving to Plymouth in 1960. Arthur preceded her in death on December 16, 2003.

Mary worked at Memorial Hospital in Sheboygan, St. Nicolas Hospital in Sheboygan, then for 25 years at Plymouth Hospital retiring in 1985.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth, also the Plymouth Women’s Club and WPS Women’s Club (Blue Flames).

She also belonged to many area bridge clubs and enjoyed sewing.

Survivors include her children: Larry (Anita) Fellows of Scottsdale, AZ, Dale (Daniel) Noordyk of Ixonia, WI, Vicki (Charles) Kreisa of Plymouth and Denis (Sheryl) Fellows of Plymouth; ten grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren; two brothers: Kenneth (Katherine) Metzler of Pompton Plains, NJ and Lawrence Metzler of Sherman Oaks, CA; one brother-in-law: Robert Tarrant of Oakhurst, NJ and one sister-in-law: Dorothy Metzler of Ocean Park, NJ.

She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by two sons: Norman and Rex; two brothers: Theodore Metzler and Fred (Sally) Metzler; two sisters: Judith Tarrant and Carol (Raymond) Youmans.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon (Feb. 24th) at 1:00 P.M. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Father Dan Volkert, pastor of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Sheboygan.

Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth from 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday (Feb. 24th) until the time of services. Ladwig-Zinkgraf American Legion Post #243 of Plymouth will conduct military rites following the services at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Mary’s name.
