KENNETH E. HECKMANN

Kenneth E. Heckmann, 88 of Plymouth, passed away peacefully at his home early Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015.

He was born on Aug. 1, 1926 in Sheboygan Falls, a son of the late William and Frohne (Pohl) Heckmann.

He graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1944.

Kenneth served in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946 serving during World War II.

On September 6, 1947 he married Irma S. Brickner in Sheboygan. The couple resided in Sheboygan Falls after their marriage. Irma preceded him in death on Dec. 28, 1997.

He worked at Standard Oil Co., Fasse Paint and retired from Richardson Brothers Furniture in 1988.

On Feb. 6, 1999 he married Arlene R. Fink at Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth. The couple has resided in Plymouth since their marriage.

He is a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth and was a member of the Sheboygan Falls American Legion Post 149.

Kenneth enjoyed horses, camping, the outdoors, spending time at his trailer up north at Lakewood and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife: Arlene of Plymouth; two daughters: Joan C. McMurray of Sheboygan and Ruth A. (Richard) Davis of Sheboygan; one grandson: Matthew Davis (special friend: Linda Voskuil) of Sheboygan; one great granddaughter: Ruth Ann Mae Davis; five step children: Debra Konrad of Sheboygan Falls, Jeffrey Fink (Mary Scharrer) of Manitowoc, Judith (Dave) Lukaszewski of Kohler, Lisa (Jeff) Wallner of Sheboygan Falls and Barbara (Jon) Baker of Kiel; step grandchildren: Angela Fink, Kathy (Jeremiah) Rehrauer, Stacey (Joe) Ryan, Kayla Fink (special friend: Darrian), Andrea Fink, Ashley Konrad, Alex Baackes, Matthew (Sheila) Lukaszewski, Rebecca Lukaszewski (special friend: Kurt), Nathan Sommer (special friend: Lora), Natalie Sommer (special friend: Phil), Joel Wallner, Jared Wallner, Brittany Baker, Taylor Baker and Krista Baker ; step great grandchildren: Daviante, Deja, Destinee, Tanesha, Lashanti, Javontae, Ariel, Keevon, Keeyang, Joe, Jaylon, Jayda, Ethan, Logan and Jayda Fritz; six sisters-in-law: Anita Opgenorth of Michigan, Lois Resch of Sheboygan, Dorothy Behr of Plymouth, LaVerne (Bill) Eickberg of Plymouth, Mary (Butch) Thiel of Plymouth and JoAnne Klaeser of Kiel and one step brother: Paul (Jeannette) Rommelmann of Indiana.

He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son-inlaw: Patrick McMurray; one step brother: Henry Rommelmann Jr. and one step sister: Lois Phillips.

Funeral services were held Monday evening, Feb. 23, at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Rev. James Hoppert officiated. Entombment is in the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum at Greenlawn Cemetery in the town of Sheboygan.

American Legion Post 149 of Sheboygan Falls conducted military rites following the services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Kenneth’s name.
