LaVerne Ruth Bauer, 84, of Plymouth, WI, passed away at her home late Friday evening (February 27, 2015) where she was surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in the Town of Herman on August 16, 1930, daughter of the late Calvin and Ruth (Wickesberg) Stuckmann.

LaVerne attended Pinehurst Grade School, graduated from Plymouth High School in 1948, and attended Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1951. She was the first member of her family to go away and graduate from college.

On December 28, 1978, she married Wilbert Bauer at Immanuel U.C.C. in the Town of Herman. The couple has resided in Plymouth since their marriage.

She held many professional positions as a nurse of labor and delivery. She worked at Reed Memorial Hospital in Richmond IN, St. Nicholas Hospital for over 25 years, and finished her professional nursing years at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital in physical therapy rehabilitation.

She became a beloved nurse and companion to Isabel Miller and many others, cherishing the friendships she had made with them.

LaVerne loved to travel, read (especially about history), solve crossword puzzles, and go shopping (like her mother before her).

Her passion and achievements in life were her profession as a delivery nurse helping bring babies into the world, and most of all her loving family.

She is survived by her beloved husband: Wilbert of Plymouth; Seven children: Mary (James) Brown of Sheboygan, Jim Chasteen of Cudahy, WI, Susan (Michael) Boedeker of Shelby Township, MI, Cindy (Robert) Vogel of Elkhart Lake, Ruth (Paul) Corning of Marytown, WI, Nora (Les) Eagan of Peoria, IL, and Eric (Kim) Chasteen of North Fond du Lac, WI; 19 Grandchildren; 20 Great-grandchildren; One brother: Roger (Sandy) Stuckmann of Waukesha; Two sisters: Margaret (Fritz) Widder of Sheboygan Falls and Mary Ann (Roy) Quinn of Cerritos, CA.

She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents and daughter: Shelly Bauer- Graves.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday (March 5) at 1:00 P.M. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Rev. Laura Yurs, pastor of Immanuel U.C.C. will officiate.

Burial will take place in the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday (March 5) from 12:30 P.M. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in LaVerne's‚ name.
