PHS JV, frosh boys win finales

PLYMOUTH – The Plymouth junior varsity and freshman boys basketball teams closed out impressive seasons with victories over Two Rivers here Thursday night.

The Panther JV squad won, 62-47, to finish 13-1 and first place in the EWC and 17-5 overall.

The Panther freshmen rolled to a 72-32 rout and chalked up a 12-2 mark in the EWC and were 17-4 overall. The team placed second in the conference.

In the JV game, the Panthers trailed 18-14 after one quarter and then outscored Two Rivers 48-29 the rest of the way. Cody Kuhn sparked the PHS attack with 18 points and Layton Albright hit 13.

Matt Richards had a good overall game for PHS with three assists, seven rebounds and two steals.

The PHS freshmen had 14 players who scored, led by Derek Novotny, Brandon Keller and Holden Reilly with 10 points each. Alex Kelly had a team-high five assists. Keller and Mason Guell had a team-best six boards apiece.
