To the Editor,

As a future municipal court judge I look up to the characteristics that Rebecca Persick displays in the courtroom and in her personal life. Rebecca Persick preceded me as Sheboygan County Assistant Corporation Counsel. In that position she treated those suffering from mental illness and disabilities with integrity. She showed patience and compassion as she listened to single mothers discuss their financial woes and unemployed fathers explain hardships of the modern workplace.

As Sheboygan County Court Commissioner, Persick is able to maintain a calm and thoughtful demeanor despite some of the most heinous crimes that cross her bench. Commissioner Persick is often the first court official that citizens come into contact with. She is able to put parties at ease by thoroughly explaining the court process and is never condescending.

Commissioner Persick, has served as a mentor to high school students interested in the law and young attorneys just starting out in their practices. 12 years ago I was one of those young attorneys. Rebecca took
