Antone D. Costa, age 90, of Plymouth, WI, formerly from Libertyville, IL, entered into eternal life peacefully on March 22, 2015.

He was born on September 28, 1924 in Laurium, MI; son of the late Joseph Battista and Mary Pisttoti Costa.

After graduating high school, he served his country in the United States Army. He served for three years in Europe, was captured at the Battle of the Bulge and was a POW for seven months.

During his working career, he worked as a meat cutter for Jewel Grocery Store. In his free time he enjoyed travelling, square dancing, taking care of his apple orchard and breeding Yorkies for show. He was a devoted volunteer at Marytown in Libertyville, IL. In Plymouth, he volunteered his time and talent by sewing quilts for service men and vets at Camo Quilts.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sibling; Dominick Costa, Elizabeth (Betty) and Arthur Johnson, Peter and Nancy Costa, and his twin brother Lawrence.

He is survived by his loving nieces and nephews; Barbara (Ed) Khidirian, Audrey Nitsche, Joseph (Linda) Costa, George (Thierry) Costa, Marc (Laura) Costa, Marie (Timothy) McJilton, Vita Costa, Jimmy (Carrie) Costa, a sister-in-law, Therese Costa; fond great and great-great uncle to many nieces and nephews. Antone was loved by his family and friends and will dearly missed.

Visitation Tuesday, March 31st, 3-7 pm at Schneider Funeral Home, 123 South Street, Plymouth, WI. Funeral Wednesday 8:30 am to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for a Mass at 9:30 am. Burial will follow at 1:00 pm in the National Cemetery in Union Grove, WI.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Antone Costa to The Franciscan Friar’s of Marytown, 1600 W. Park Ave, Libertyville, Il 60048.
