Kiwanis, Girl Scouts wrap successful Ton of Food

The Kiwanis Club and Girls Scouts of Sheboygan Falls recently wrapped up the fourth annual Ton of Food community food drive. The Kiwanis Club, Girl Scouts, and Blattner’s Piggly Wiggly partnered to collect food to help stock the shelves of the local food pantry during its leanest time of the year. The drive was a huge success, with an estimated 4-5 tons of food collected and delivered to the Sheboygan Falls Food Pantry. “We are very thankful to many local businesses and organizations, including Blattner’s Piggly Wiggly for providing the collection bags and promoting the event, The Gathering Place for adding labels and inserts to all of the bags, and Evans, Subway, Dairy Queen, Lakeside Pepsi, Wells Fargo and Technical Assistance Co for generous donations,” Sheboygan Falls Kiwanis Ton of Food Committee Chair Tim Gumm said. “In the past four years of this event, the Sheboygan falls community has responded with donations in excess of 15,000 pounds. The response from the community was overwhelming and we look forward to continued success and growth in the future.” Submitted photo The Kiwanis Club and Girls Scouts of Sheboygan Falls recently wrapped up the fourth annual Ton of Food community food drive.
