James S. “Jim” Helminger, age 65, of Batavia, passed away unexpectedly late Thursday (April 9, 2015) at his home.

He was born in Sheboygan on April 16, 1949, son of the late Warren “Tony” and Patricia (McCaffrey) Helminger.

He was baptized at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth, and had First Communion and Confirmation at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Adell.

Jim attended and graduated from Random Lake High School in 1967.

He served in the United States Army from February 13, 1969-September 21, 1970.

He worked for the West Bend Company/ Regal Ware for 47 years, retiring in May 2014

On November 6, 1971, he married Susan Hintz at St. John of God Catholic Church in the Town of Farmington. The couple has resided in Batavia since their marriage.

Jim coached Midget and Little League boy’s baseball for many years at Batavia Athletic Club. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren at their sporting events. He also enjoyed fishing trips with his sons, grandson, brothers, other family and friends. He was a fan of the Packers and Badgers.

Jim loved watching the Jim Dad’s Moonshine 51M sprint car race in Plymouth.

He is survived by his loving wife: Susan; Three children: Craig of the Town of Scott, Christy of Batavia, Ryan (Chelsea) of the Town of Scott; Two grandchildren: Samantha and Devin; Eight brothers and sisters: Mike (Letha) Helminger of Cascade, Mark (Margit) Helminger of Adell, Tony (Jean) Helminger of Plymouth, Pat (Gerald) Arndt of Silver Creek, Mary Wetor of Adell, Lisa (Earl) Parchment of Niceville, FL, Joel Helminger of Random Lake, and Kathy (Dale) Krajenka of Cable, WI; Mother-in-law: Marie Hintz; Brotherin law: Ronnie Hintz; and Sister-in-law: Jane (Frank) King.

He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: John and Paul; One sister: Ann Klug; and Father-in-law: Ralph Hintz

Following Jim’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a prayer service will be held at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth on Tuesday (April 14) at 7:00 P.M.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday (April 14) from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth.

Private family memorial mass will be held on Wednesday (April 15, 2015).

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Jim’s name.
