BETTY JANE KELLER

Betty Jane Keller, 91, of Plymouth, WI, passed away Sunday (March 22, 2015) at the Sheboygan Senior Community. She had resided there for about one month.

Betty was born May 15, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of the late Harold and Ann (Kailer) Smith. She attended schools in Detroit and Chicago prior to graduating from Oconomowoc High School. She married Lloyd Keller in 1943. They resided in Oconomowoc prior to moving to Lloyd’s family farm near Stratford. Betty was involved in many Marathon County organizations including Homemakers, 4-H, and VFW Auxiliary.

In 1963, Betty moved to Milwaukee. During the next 30 years, she worked in accounting at Marquette University, Lincoln Savings and Loan and The Posner Gallery. Betty moved to Plymouth in 1993. She renewed her involvement in the VFW Auxiliary.

Her appreciation of all forms of art led her to the Plymouth Art Center where she served as the Docent Coordinator for 14 years. She will be missed by her family and friends. She had a remarkable memory and was always ready to tell a story or two.

Survivors include: One daughter: Sharon (Ted) Nytes of Plymouth; One son: John (Kathy) Keller of Cave Creek, AZ; Three grandsons: Robert (Chris) Boldt of Sheboygan, Jason of Sheboygan Falls, Bill (Amy) Keller of Denver, CO; One granddaughter: Kristin Keller of Silver Spring, MD; Two step grand children: Kelly (David) Kastelic of Plymouth, Kevin (Kelly) Nytes of Aurora, CO; Four great grandchildren: Benjamin and Halle Boldt, Anna and Max Keller; Four step great grandchildren: Parker, Chloe, and Izzy Kastelic, and Jordan Nytes; One sister-in-law: Shirley Cooley of Loma Linda, CA; One niece: Cynthia; One nephew: Bobby, and many cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her brother Robert Cooley.

Per Betty’s wishes, there will be no services. Cremation has taken place. A memorial fund has been established in Betty’s name for Sheboygan County Cancer Care or the Plymouth Arts Center.
