PHS girls win EWC quadrangular meet

PLYMOUTH – The Plymouth Panthers showed good balance in winning Tuesday’s Eastern Wisconsin Conference girls quadrangular track meet at Finke Field.

PHS edged second-place Waupun, 76½-71½. Two Rivers, the defending EWC champion was third with 61 points, followed by Kiel at 60.

Plymouth placed third in the boys quadrangular with 65½. Waupun earned first with 85. Two Rivers was second at 69½ and Kiel finished fourth with 52. The meets were the outdoor openers for the PHS teams.

PHS won just three events in the girls meet but had a combined 10 second and third-place finishes. The Panthers’ winners included Morgan Lisowe in the 400-meter dash, Sophie Bolich, 3,200 run and Mary Albert in the 300 low hurdles.

The Panther boys had three first-place finishers – Samuel Staehling in the 100 dash, Jake Schneider, 200 dash and Cody Kuhn in the long jump.
