DAVID F. BAUMANN, SR

David F. Baumann, Sr, 66, of Plymouth, Wisconsin passed away at his home on April 19, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Plymouth, WI on September 2, 1948 to the late Edward and Jean (Titel) Baumann.

He graduated from Elkhart Lake High School in 1968 and shortly after was drafted into the United States Army and spent a year in Vietnam. He was in the 5th Artillery 1st Infantry Division of Big Red One.

After returning from Vietnam, Dave worked with Don Mullen Excavating and then started his own excavating company, Baumann Excavating, which is still in operation more than 40 years later.

Dave enjoyed hunting and had taken several hunting trips to Montana and also enjoyed going to the drag races. The last 20 years Dave enjoyed farming with his close friend, Clarence and raising his buffalo.

He was a member of the Walter P. Gillis American Legion Post # 484 of Glenbeulah.

Dave is survived by his significant other: Pat Presutti who was by his side until the end; two sons: Robert (Amy) of Plymouth and David (Heidi) of Howards Grove; two brothers: Paul (Chris) of Plymouth and Peter of Glenbeulah; eight grandchildren: Joshua, Jordan, Olivia, Dyllan, Christopher, Grace, Paige and Ella.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Jean.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon (April 25) at 2:00 p.m. at the Suchon Funeral Home. Father Wayne Bittner will officiate.

Burial will be at the Greenbush Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Walter P. Gillis American Legion Post # 484 of Glenbeulah at the cemetery.

Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Dave’s name.
