PHS (2-3-2 overall) and Falls (2-2-1 overall) are atop the EWC race with 2-0-2 and 2-0-1 records, respectively.

Junior midfielder Becky Raeder gave the Falcons a 1-0 lead in the third minute and they were up at halftime.

Junior Olivia Jankowski forged the draw for PHS with a goal in the 74th minute.

PHS goalkeeper Elizabeth Bolland and Falcon goalie Rachel Wilke made game-saving stops in the final minute of this hardfought match.

“It was a typical Plymouth- Falls game. Both teams left everything they had on the field,” said PHS head coach Brad Feick.

“It took us awhile to respond to the goal. We survived the first half and then played a significantly better second half. We maintained pressure and eventually we were able to get through [for a goal].

“We were able to generate our goal by getting the ball outside in. Hannah Mauk crossed the ball into the box. Kaylee Koenig got a touch on it and Olivia was able to move in and finish the play,” said Feick.

Falls led 6-4 in shots on goal. Bolland made four saves and teammate Taylor Heyrman, one. Wilke had three saves.

“Taylor Heyrman did a great job jumping in for Elizabeth Bolland who left the game briefly after a Sheboygan Falls player ran through her after fielding a ball,” Feick noted.

“We came out [in the second half] and played very well – the level in which we need to play the entire game. We possessed the ball on Falls’ side of the field for much of the second half.”
