Dvorachek leads HG boys to third at Tiger Invite

HOWARDS GROVE – Senior Eric Dvorachek’s strong distance running led the Howards Grove boys to a third-place finish in their Tiger Track Invitational Friday.

Dvorachek scored 22 team points to spark the Tigers. He won the 1,600-meter run in 4 minutes, 49.12 seconds; placed second in the 800 race and was fourth in the 3,200 event.

HGHS scored 105 points in the six-team meet. Kiel ran away with the championship – outscoring runner-up Brown Deer, 207-110.

Kiel also won the girls meet in impressive fashion. The Raiders piled up 229½ points and Brown Deer was second at 95. The Tigers took fourth with 59.

Sophomore Kjersten Grinna was a double-winner in leading the HGHS girls. Grinna swept the hurdle events – capturing the 100 high hurdles in 18.99 seconds and the 300 lows in 51.97. She scored a team-high 20 points with her two victories.
