Bagnall leads Tigers past Oostburg

Sophomore Matt Bagnall earned medalist honors to lead the Howards Grove boys golf team to a 175-184 dual win over Oostburg Thursday afternoon.

Bagnall shot a 5-over-par 41 on the nine-hole Riverwoods Course at the Town & Country Golf Club in Sheboygan. The HGHS Tigers raised their Central Lakeshore Conference dual record to 3-0 (5-1 overall).

The Tigers’ other low players were Jake Fritz with a 42, and Layne Gustafson and Jonny Probst with 46s. The Flying Dutchmen were paced by Jordan Leaman’s 44.

HGHS won the junior varsity match, 198-220. The Tigers’ Issac Dirker and Mason Valenstein were the co-medalists with 49s. Justin Hoffman led Oostburg with a 51.

HG-KOHLER DUAL

In CLC dual play Tuesday afternoon, the Tigers defeated Kohler, 194-200, at Blackwolf Run in Kohler.

Bagnall was the medalist with a 46 on the par-36 front nine of the original championship course. Brady Stefanczyk’s 47 led the Blue Bombers.

The Tigers’ other low golfers were Fritz with a 47, Gustafson, 49 and Tyler Myzewski, 52.

HGHS won the JV meet, 211- 219.
