Resorters stay perfect with CLC win

BELGIUM – Elkhart Lake- Glenbeulah erupted for five runs in the top of the sixth inning to fuel a 9-4 softball victory over Cedar Grove-Belgium here Friday afternoon.

The big inning boosted the Resorters’ lead to 9-1. The key hit was a two-run single by Rachael Flora. Raechel Grunewald drilled an RBI double and Claire Feldmann stroked an RBI single for Elkhart in the sixth.

The Resorters hiked their firstplace Central Lakeshore Conference record to 6-0 (6-0 overall).

Flora led the Resorters’ attack with three hits and three RBIs. The junior shortstop also scored a team-high three runs and led in steals with four.

Holly Zorn was the winning pitcher. Zorn gave up four earned runs on nine hits with two walks and three strikeouts in going the distance.

Mandi Race, the losing hurler, paced the Rockets in hits with two.
