State 67 work in full swing

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Green Bay regional office is providing a weekly update on road construction in Sheboygan County.

On the State 67 project in Plymouth, the Mullet River bridge concrete overlay was scheduled for Monday and other bridge repair work for the remainder of the week. The sanitary and water main utilities will continue all week.

State 67 and Mill Street were closed and traffic detoured Monday, April 27 as scheduled. Crews performed survey staking and begin mobilizing equipment to the site. The Mullet River bridge deck was milled and cleaned for a concrete overlay, with other bridge repairs begun by week’s end. Crews completed the saw cutting and breaking the concrete pavement and began pavement removal.

The 0.84-mile, $3.18 million urban reconstruction project from the Mullet River north of County PP to Suhrke Road in the city of Plymouth involves reconstruction of State 67 from the river to Suhrke Road, resurfacing and repairs to the Mullet River bridge, and water utility, storm sewer and sanitary sewer reconstruction along with new concrete pavement. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

State 67 will be closed to through traffic during construction. Access to local businesses and properties will be maintained. The following detours for each stage are:

Stage one, through late June: State 67 closed from Mullet River bridge to a point immediately west of the County C and Caroline Street intersection. Traffic will be detoured using County PP, County E, and County C

Stage two, late June through November: State 67 closed from a point immediately west of the County C and Caroline Street intersection to Suhrke Road. Traffic will be detoured using County C and State 23.
