KENNETH L. KALLENBERG

Kenneth L. Kallenberg, 90, of Plymouth, WI passed away peacefully on Friday (May 1, 2015) at the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice in SheboyganFalls.

Ken was born on January 14, 1925 in Plymouth, WI, a son of the late Edgar and Helen (Steinhardt)Kallenberg.

He attended Plymouth High School and enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp from 1942- 1946 serving in World War II in the European Theater.

On January 5, 1947 he married Mary C. Metze in Plymouth, WI.

Ken served on the Sheboygan Police Department for 10 years. Ken and his wife Mary then became owner operators of various motels including; The Fondy Motel in Fond du Lac, the Plymouth Motor Inn and Standard Hall in Sheboygan. After the couple’s retirement they moved to their home on Lake Winnebago for many happy years and also enjoyed spending their winters in Apache Junction, AZ.

Ken was a member of Salem United church of Christ in Plymouth and was a former member of the Plymouth Lions Club, Elks Club in Sheboygan and served as president of the Sheboygan County Tavern League.

Mary preceded him in death on October 10, 2008.

He enjoyed boating, fishing and hunting in Shawano County.

Survivors include: Three children: Steve (Sandy) Kallenberg of Plymouth, Barbara (Thomas) Trimberger of Sheboygan, Greg (Lynn) Kallenberg of Shawano; six grandchildren: Scott (Mavi) Kallenberg of Plymouth, Erik (Lupita) Trimberger of Sheboygan, Joel (Nichole) Trimberger of Sheboygan, Nicole (Jon) Erlien of Sheboygan, Angela (Scott) Hietpas of Darboy and Amy Diedrich (Fiance Robert Gmeiner) of Appleton; 13 great grandchildren; one Brother-in-law: Robert (Eileen) Metze of Plymouth; one Sister-in-law: Shirley (Merlin) Schmidt of Sheboygan Falls; special friend: Joyce Federwisch of Plymouth. He also is survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a grandson: Todd Kallenberg and one brother: Edgar and one sister: Charlotte.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday Evening (May 7) at 7:00 P.M. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Rev. James Hoppert, pastor of Salem United church of Christ in Plymouth will officiate.

Burial will be in the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Ken’s name.

The Plymouth VFW World Cheese Center Post # 5612 will conduct military rites following the services at the Funeral Home on Thursday evening.
