Tigers win boys CLC triangular meet

Schneider finished first. – Photo by Mike McGil HOWARDS GROVE – The Howards Grove Tigers edged Random Lake, 69-67, to win a Central Lakeshore Conference boys triangular track meet here Tuesday.

The Tigers were led by double winners Noah Bramstedt and Alex Strege. Bramstedt, a sophomore, swept the sprints – taking first in the 100- and 200-meter dashes in 11.52 and 23.74 seconds, respectively. Strege, a senior, won the long jump with an 18-3 performance and the triple jump at 38-8.

The Tigers’ other first-place finishers were Eric Dvorachek in the 800 run in 2 minutes, 18.77 seconds; and the 400 relay (members unavailable) in 53.00.

The Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters placed third in the meet with 34 points. Elkhart had a pair of first-place finishers in Logan Knepfel in the 110 high hurdles with a 16.14 effort and Dyllan Konen in the 300 intermediate hurdles with a time of 47.0.

The Tigers were paced by two double-winners in junior Noelle Eschen and sophomore Kjersten Grinna. Eschen captured the 100 in 13.32 and the 200 in 28.34. Grinna swept the hurdles – winning the 100 highs in 19.06 and the 300 lows with a 50.6 clocking.

Also winning for HGHS was Mattie Milz in the 800 with a time of 2:44.43.

The Resorters had two winners in Sarah Schneider in the high jump at 4-4 and Eliza Meyers in the long jump with 13-8½.
