The Lady Dutch upped their Central Lakeshore Conference record to 4-1-1 (6-2-1 overall). Elkhart slipped to 3-3 in the CLC (3-3-1 overall).

Oostburg took a 2-0 halftime lead on Brenna Rauwerdink’s penalty kick and Ashlea Haag’s goal, respectively. Cheyenne Thein converted a penalty kick in the second half.

“We took more shots tonight, either sending it directly to the keeper or pushing off the crossbar. We controlled the game tonight, even if the final score did not result in that,” said Resorter head coach Kevin Ruh.

Elkhart led 14-8 in shots. Both teams had four shots on goal. Resorter goalie Taylor Porter made three saves.

“We possessed the ball 64 percent tonight. We played a little more control in the first half and attacked the offensive side the second half,” said Ruh.

“In past games we would lose our focus and fall apart in the second half. We were able to play an entire game tonight and finish strong.”
