Falls stays undefeated in EWC, PHS fourth

WAUPUN – Sheboygan Falls remained unbeaten in Eastern Wisconsin Conference boys golf after winning its third straight mini-meet May 4 at the Rock River Country Club.

The Falcons, led by medalist Matt Bachmann, shot 162 to edge second-place Kewaskum which had 164. Host Waupun was third at 166, followed by the Plymouth Panthers with 175.

Bachmann fired a 3-under-par 33 on the front nine. Sam Schlosser of Kewaskum was second with an even-par 36. Senior Zach Gambrell led the Panthers with a tie for seventh place at 42.

Plymouth’s other low players were Cade Knaus with a 43, Jake Willeford, 44 and Lucas Johnson, 46.

Falls leads the EWC title chase with three points. PHS is fourth with 10. One point is awarded for a first-place finish in a mini-meet, two points for second and so on.

PHS earned second in the junior varsity meet with a score of 180. The Panthers were led by TJ Moegenburg who tied for second with a 43 on the front nine.

Waupun took first with 173 and was paced by medalist Cody Kast who carded a 42.
