Resorters rally to outlast Crusaders

ELKHART LAKE – It wasn’t pretty but the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters will take the 14-10 softball win over visiting Sheboygan Lutheran/Kohler in a Central Lakeshore Conference game Friday afternoon.

The Resorters, who overcame six errors, upped their CLC record to 11-2 (11-5 overall). Elkhart is one-half game behind league-leading Random Lake which is 12-2.

An eight-run explosion in the bottom of the sixth inning gave EL-G a 14-10 lead after trailing 10-6.

The Resorters banged out 10 hits and were aided by eight Crusader errors.

Lutheran/Kohler’s miscues led to six unearned runs by EL-G.

Elkhart had five batters with two hits each – Sonia Schubert, Claire Feldmann, Raechel Grunewald, Rachael Flora and Aryka Klemme. Schubert and Feldmann had a team-high two RBIs each. Feldmann led in runs with four.

Lutheran had four batters with two hits apiece – Hannah Frey, Lindsay Thaves, Katherine Vicente and Elizabeth Hartmann. Frey led in RBIs with three.
