Holzmann, Meyers pace EL-G girls in quadrangular

OOSTBURG – Juniors Emily Holzmann and Eliza Meyers won two events each to lead the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters in Tuesday’s Central Lakeshore Conference girls track quadrangular.

Holzmann earned first place in the 100-meter high hurdles with a time of 16.6 seconds and the discus with a 92-0 toss. Meyers won the long and triple jumps with distances of 13-5½ and 26-8, respectively.

Host Oostburg won the meet with 88 points, followed by Ran- dom Lake with 68, EL-G at 65 and Sheboygan Lutheran, 19.

Senior Logan Knepfel of Elkhart was a double-winner in the boys quadrangular. Knepfel captured first in the 110 high hurdles in 17.1 and the 200 dash in 23.3.

Oostburg placed first in the boys meet with 79 points. Lutheran took second at 70½, followed by Random Lake with 61 and ELG, 41½.

The Resorters’ other winners in the girls competition were Camrie Schmitz in the 200 with a 28.0 effort; and the 400 relay team of Holzmann, Schmitz, Lauren Boos and Meyers in 54.3.

Also taking first for the EL-G boys was Stuart Zelle in the discus with an 111-0 performance.

“Eliza Meyers competed well. Holzmann ran well in the hurdles and increased her discus,” said Resorter head coach Chris Petrie.

“Camrie helped us out in a few events. The boys competed well.”
