Schmitz’s hat trick powers EL-G to win

ELKHART LAKE – Sophomore forward Camrie Schmitz’s hat trick ignited the Elkhart Lake- Glenbeulah Resorters’ 4-0 win over Sheboygan Lutheran/Kohler in a girls soccer match here Tuesday afternoon.

The win raised the Resorters’ Central Lakeshore Conference record to 5-6 (5-7-1 overall).

Sophomore Paige Nelson kicked Elkhart’s other goal.

“We focused on ball possession tonight. We changed the field very well, setting up Camrie to make her runs. We let the game come to us and did not attack just to attack.

“The girls played very well together tonight with the most communication we have had all year.”

EL-G led 10-3 in shots on goal. Resorter goalkeeper Taylor Porter made three saves.

“Taylor made two great saves tonight on a one-on-one and another that she had to lay out for to get to. We ran all the girls out there tonight and they all played their positions very well,” said Ruh.
