Memorial Day weekend - a time for solemn remembrance
Sponsored by the World’s Cheese Center Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5612, Plymouth held its annual Memorial Day parade and ceremony Monday. Featured speaker at the Memorial Day ceremony in Union Cemetery was Capt. John King, commanding officer of Plymouthbased Battery B, 1-121st Field Artillery, Army National Guard. King outlined the accomplishments of Bravo Battery and thanked the community for their continued support of the unit. The parade through downtown Plymouth preceded the ceremony. The VFW firing squad provided the ceremonial rifle volley to conclude the ceremony, which included selections from the Plymouth High School band under the direction of Jason Sebranek, patriotic readings and bagpipe music.
