Ruth M. Kapellen, 90, of Plymouth, WI passed away on Tuesday evening May 26, 2015 at the Plymouth Care Center (Atrium).

Ruth was born on August 3, 1924 in the Town of Sheboygan Falls, a daughter of the late Henry J. and Clara Schmitt Nytes. She attended Sheboygan County area schools. Ruth worked at Grieves Woolen Mills in Sheboygan Falls for several years.

On June 29, 1946, she married Raymond Kapellen. The couple lived in Plymouth since their marriage. Ruth worked at Sargento Cheese Company for five years and Gilson Brothers Company for ten years, retiring in 1970. Her colleagues, friends and family knew Ruth for her tireless energy. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and was an active member of the Christian Women Society. Ruth meticulously cleaned the church linens for 15 years.

Ray preceded her in death on November 19, 1996.

Survivors include two sons: Thomas (Judy) Kapellen of Plymouth, Steven (Susan) Kapellen of Elkhart Lake; Four grandchildren: Jennifer Herman Kapellen of Milwaukee, Jessica (Jason) Feider of Cornelius, NC, Melissa (Matt) Dvorak of Hopkins, MN, Katy Beth Kapellen of Minneapolis, MN;

Six great grandchildren: Emilie Kapellen

Harvey; Benjamin, Joseph Parker, Olivia and Elliot Feider and Thomas Dvorak; Six sisters: Grace Gazziti of Holly, Michigan, Jeanette Kapp of Port Washington,Gladys Gazziti of Garland, Texas, Theresa Tracy of Oostburg, Barbara Kretshmann of Watertown, Kathryn (Roger) Winterberg of Sheboygan; Three brothers: Robert (Lueva) Nytes of Sheboygan, Theodore (Sharon) Nytes of Plymouth and Charles (Kathy) Nytes of Adell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond, and brother, Gilbert.

A Funeral Mass was held on Monday June 1, 2015 at 5:00 P.M. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. Father Dan Volkert, Pastor of the Church officiated. Following services cremation will take place and inurnment will be in the Parish cemetery. Friends could call at the church on Monday, June 1 from 2 P.M. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Ruth’s name.
