Board lowers speed limit on Oak Road

PLYMOUTH – Drivers will soon have to slow down on Oak Road.

The Town Board Tuesday adopted an ordinance lowering the speed limit on the road – which runs between County Z and Sumac Road – to 45 mph.

Town Chairman Warren Luedke noted that the reduction had been requested by residents along the road and was endorsed by county officials as well.

The board approved two certified survey maps.

The first was for developer Alan Stader, splitting a corner lot at Jennifer Drive and Windchime Court into two lots.

“It was two lots on the original plan,” for the subdivision, Stader told the supervisors. “For some reason, they were combined and made lot 33 on the final plat.

“The problem is, that lot is about 2 ½ acres and nobody wants to mow 2 ½ acres,” Stader explained.

The second land division, for Mary Prange, was for a parcel on River Heights Drive.

She explained that the current lot includes four residences and the family would like to divide them into separate lots in order to sell several of them.

“I guess it makes sense to do what they want to do,” Supervisor Glenn Kruschke commented.

The board approved a contract with Land Steward Enhancements for cemetery mowing, with an increase in the charge for each mowing from $30 to $50.

But supervisors said they would like to meet with representatives from Land Steward Enhancements to go over the contract and the service.

“I wish he was here so he could tell us how many hours it takes to cut the grass,” Supervisor Roger Rortvedt said.

“That’s my question too,” Supervisor Gene Blindauer added.
