Countywide blood drive planned

BloodCenter of Wisconsin is asking donors to recognize World Blood Donor Day, June 14, by making a life-saving gift in the month of June.

World Blood Donor Day was established by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2004 to thank blood donors for their generosity and to raise awareness of the need for ongoing blood donations to ensure the quality, safety and availability of blood and blood products for patients in need.

Blood donors in Sheboygan County can do their part for patients at BloodCenter of Wisconsin’s upcoming June blood drives.

* Sheboygan. Friday, June 5 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Aurora Sheboygan Clinic, 2414 Kohler Memorial Dr.

* Sheboygan Falls. Monday, June 15 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at St Paul Lutheran Church, 730 CTY RD PPP.

* Cascade. Tuesday, June 16 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at St Paul's Lutheran Church, 509 Milwaukee Ave.

* Plymouth. Wednesday, June 24 from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Generations, 1500 Douglas. Win a college scholarship for yourself or someone you know.

* Sheboygan. Big Cheese Challenge on Thursday, June 25 from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Elk's Lodge #299, 1943 Erie Ave.

The theme of this year’s World Blood Donor Day is "Thank you for saving my life.” It aims to highlight stories of people who have benefitted from blood donation to encourage regular donors to continue to give, and inspire people who have never given blood, particularly young people, to begin doing so.
