Schmitz propels Resorters to rout

ELKHART LAKE – Sophomore forward Camrie Schmitz scored a hat trick to spark the Elkhart Lake- Glenbeulah Resorters’ to an 8-1 thumping of Random Lake on Senior Night here Thursday.

The win upped the Resorters’ Central Lakeshore Conference girls soccer record to 6-7 (6-8-1 overall). This is the most CLC victories EL-G has ever had in one season.

Senior midfielder Jessica Raether kicked two goals for the Resorters. Contributing one goal each were Jessa Feldmann, Rebecca Graf and Morgan Schwaller. Schmitz had a team-high two assists.

Briajae Weyker scored the Rams’ goal.

The total number of shots on goal by each team and the goalies’ saves were unavailable.

“We controlled the ball well tonight – working across the field and getting everyone involved,” said Resorter head coach Kevin Ruh.

“It was Senior Night and we were able to move some of our [senior] defensive girls up front and let them play some offense tonight.

“Jessica Raether is starting to come on strong for us on the offensive side. Jessa Feldmann held our midfield and let the other girls run,” said Ruh.
