Wilderness Shoot and Brat Fry Sunday in Howards Grove

The not for profit Howards Grove Rod and Gun Club is pleased to announce its 27th annual Wilderness Shoot and Brat Fry, which will be held on Sunday, June 7 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Howards Grove Rod and Gun Club’s grounds and trap range.

The club’s grounds/trap range is located at N9548 Meadowlark Rd., which is about a mile west of State 42, midway between Orchard Road and County Line Road. Orchard Road is about three miles north of Howards Grove.

Past participants have enjoyed the “grouse between the trees” shootoffs and other angles designed to challenge even the best shots in this park-like setting. Not only is this merchandise trap shoot a lot of fun for shooters, it’s fun for the whole family, so bring them along to participate (or just watch) and enjoy the brat fry, grilled chicken breast, burgers, and assorted beverages. Raffle opportunities abound during this event in the “wilderness” just north of Howards Grove. Take-outs are available, but stay to enjoy the fun in a wilderness setting.

The Howards Grove Rod and Gun Club members have been serving the residents and surrounding community with conservation/preservation support since 1925. The annual Wilderness Shoot & Brat Fry is one of the Club’s major source of funds, used for such community services as: sponsor (and instruct) hunter safety courses, sponsorship of a “take a kid fishing” day, sponsorship of a Howards Grove Boy Scout Troop, purchase of wetlands for wildlife preservation, support Club membership in the Sheboygan County Conservation Association, spearheading the renewal of the nearby Jetzer’s Lake’s water quality, Pigeon River cleanup, and many other activities.
