Olson fires shutout, Tigers stay unbeaten

HOWARDS GROVE – Brad Olson twirled a four-hit shutout as the Howards Grove Tigers rolled past Sheboygan Lutheran/Kohler, 10-0, in a Central Lakeshore Conference baseball game here Tuesday night.

Olson, a junior, walked two and struck out six in six innings (10- run rule). The Tigers upped their CLC record to 2-0 (4-0 overall).

Senior center fielder Zach Fritz ignited the Tigers’ attack with three hits and three RBIs. Andrew Reinemann and Caleb Holzman added two hits each.

Zac Stauss and Holzman paced HGHS in runs with two apiece. Alex Strege led in steals with two.

The Tigers busted the game open with a seven-run explosion in the last of the sixth.

“Zach Fritz played a great game tonight – going 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Brad Olson gained his first win of the season and gave up only four hits,” said Tiger head coach Mark Weber.

“We’re getting wins, yet I feel we haven’t hit our stride in playing solid baseball. I expect a lot more from this team.”

Crusader pitching issued nine walks.
