ANNA MARIE PAULINE “ANN” KNIER

Anna Marie Pauline “Ann” Knier, age 87, of Plymouth, passed away June 14th, 2015.

She was born April 24th, 1928 in Sheboygan Falls. Ann was the daughter of the late Arthur and Anna (Moschko) Halbig.

Ann was united in marriage with Joseph Knier on November 27th, 1946, at St. Mary’s in Sheboygan Falls. After their marriage they moved to Batavia, where they ran a full service garage. He preceded her in death in 1965.

After her husband passed away, Ann worked as a cook at Batavia Grade School for a couple of years. She always put her family first, and wanted to be with her chilseveral dren when they came home from school. She then worked at Gilson/Lawnboy/Toro until her retirement in 1994. Ann worked part time in her retirement at Bemis Upland, and then for Holiday Trim.

Ann had a smile for everyone around her. She was a happy and jovial person, always welcoming friends and family into her home. She was a loving Mother to her daughters and a caring Grandmother to her two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. When she would help babysit the great grandchildren, they knew that she would always bring them M & M’s and some Tootsie Rolls. They would gather around her and each would receive one M & M at a time, saying what color it was.

Ann loved playing cards, especially Kings in the Corner and 500 Rummy. She also enjoyed watching wildlife, especially the birds and squirrels. The beautiful red cardinals were one of her favorite birds, and her home showed off cardinal pillows, throws and figurines.

She was a prayer warrior, praying throughout the day for others. Ann had been an active member of the Christian Mothers and the American Legion Auxillary.

Ann is survived by her three daughters: Irene (Larry) Schade of Elkhart Lake, Mary (Terry) Wozny of Port Washington, and Elizabeth (Chuck) Neuman of Neenah; two grandchildren: Lawrence Schade of Elkhart Lake and Brenda Schade (Chuck Kilian) of Plymouth; and four great grandsons: Thomas, Joshua, Samuel, and John. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Joseph, her beloved parents, Anna and Arthur Halbig, and two brothers, Bernhard and Arthur.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 20th at Suchon Funeral Home, Plymouth, with Father Wayne Bittner officiating. Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home on Saturday, (June 20), from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Ann will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Adell.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in her name for Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
