PHS JV soccer team goes 18-0

The Plymouth junior varsity girls soccer team wrapped up an undefeated season with three shutouts recently.

The Panthers finished 18-0 and outscored the opposition by an amazing 122-5. It’s believed that this is the first time a PHS JV girls soccer team has scored 100 or more goals in one season.

In their final three matches, PHS posted shutouts – 10-0 over Kewaskum, 4-0 versus New Holstein and 10-0 against Two Rivers. Klairice Schwartz led PHS in scoring in the Kewaskum game with two. Nine Panthers tallied goals and five players had one assist each.

Sarah Morris scored twice to lead the PHS attack against New Holstein. Destiny Henschel had a team-high two assists.

Ellie Welsch’s hat trick [three goals] powered the Panthers’ offense versus Two Rivers. Savannah Wiese added two goals. Seven Panthers contributed goals. Hannah Stucke led in assists with a pair.

“I am very proud of this team. They were very coachable and fun to work with. Also, an interesting note was that everyone on the team scored at least one goal this season,” said PHS coach Rommy Herrera.
