State 67 phase one work near end

Work on the first phase of the State 67 road project in the city of Plymouth is nearing completion, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) regional office in Green Bay.

Asphaltic concrete pavement and driveways should be paved by midweek. Restoration of the landscaped areas, road signs and pavement marking are all schedule to be completed this week. Final site cleanup is the last schedule item of work for stage one prior to opening stage one and closing stage two.

The 0.84-mile, $3.18 million urban reconstruction project from the Mullet River to Suhrke Road in the city of Plymouth is scheduled for completion in November.

This project involves reconstruction of State 67 from the Mullet River to Suhrke Road, resurfacing and repairs to the Mullet River Bridge, and water utility, storm sewer and sanitary sewer reconstruction along with new concrete pavement.

State 67 will be closed to through traffic during construction. Access to local businesses and properties will be maintained. The following detours for each stage are:

Stage one, through late June 2015: State 67 is closed from the Mullet River bridge to a point immediately west of the County C and Caroline Street intersection. Traffic is detoured using the following route: for State 67 north, County PP east, County E north, County C west to North Street (right), Main Street (left) to State 67 (Caroline Street) and reverse for State 67 south.

For Stage two, from the completion of phase one through November: State 67 will be closed from a point immediately west of the County C and Caroline Street intersection to Suhrke Road. Traffic will be detoured using County C and State 23.

Crews this week will also continue work on a project on State 23 from County Road P to State 32 as well interchange ramps to County Road C, State 67 and State 32.

The 15-mile project, scheduled for completion in July, includes sawing joints and partial depth concrete repairs.

Traffic will be controlled via various techniques including: shoulder closures, lane closures, or flagging. Access will be maintained to local businesses and residences.
