Resorters cruise to CLC victory

Junior Bailey Klug twirled a five-hitter as the Elkhart Lake- Glenbeulah Resorters pounded Cedar Grove-Belgium, 15-4, in baseball action Friday night at June Vollrath Park in Elkhart.

Klug allowed three earned runs and only two walks while striking out three in the five-inning game (10-run rule). The Resorters raised their Central Lakeshore Conference record to 3-7 (4-8 overall).

“We played well. It was one of the first well-rounded games of the year for us,” said Resorter head coach Davin Hill.

“We were solid, defensively and pitching, and had a strong offense.

“It was a really nice game for Bailey. It was one of his best games of the year. The keys were that he kept people off the bases and was pounding the strike zone,” said Hill.

The Resorters’ attack was led by Tyler Schultz with two hits. The RBI leaders were Schultz, Gunnr Johnson, Jordan Bahr, Brennan Cain and Nick Miller with two each.
