Aquatic classes in PHS pool

Plymouth School District Community Education and Recreation is offering another session of aquatic classes in conjunction with the Plymouth Adult Community Center.

Register by July 17 for the following classes, which will be taught by Fred Brown and his staff from July 27 to Aug. 7 in the pool at Plymouth High School, 125 Highland Ave.:

Aquatic Rehab Class: The buoyancy and resistance of water challenges the body while easing strain on problematic areas. Exercises are in shallow water, so no swimming skills are needed. This program is designed for seniors but open to all. Class will meet from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays; class is free but pre-registration is required.

Adult Swim Lessons: Participants will f eel more comfortable with their swimming skills. Class will meet from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; fee is $24 until July 17, then $34; or sign up for two sessions for $40.

SilverSneakers Splash: Fun, shallow-water movement to improve agility and flexibility while addressing cardiovascular, strength and endurance conditioning. No swimming ability required. SilverSneakers kickboard or other aquatic equipment used to improve strength, balance and coordination. Open only to Silver Sneakers & Generations members; call Generations at (920) 892-4858 for paid membership information. Two identical classes will meet from 9 to 9:45 a.m. and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday; class is free but pre-registration is required.

Another session of these classes will be offered Aug. 10 to 21.
