Strokes camp, dog classes offered

Plymouth School District Community Education and Recreation is offering another Dog Obedience class as well as a swimming strokes camp for students.

Register by July 24 for the following classes, which will meet at Plymouth High School, 125 Highland Ave.:

Dog Obedience: Learn basic commands to use and how to teach your dog to sit, stay, come when called, who takes who for a walk, and other safety tips. Dogs should be at least 3 months old. Handlers ages 11 to 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Bring a slip collar and a 6-foot leash.

Class will meet with instructor Pat Chickowski from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays from Aug. 5 to Sept. 16 in the northeast parking lot; fee is $35 ($28 for Generations members and district residents ages 62 and up) until July 24, then $45.

Strokes Camp: Participants ages 8 to17 will learn competitive strokes and helpful techniques, as experienced swimmers strive to perfect their strokes. Camp will meet Monday, Aug. 3 through Friday, Aug. 7, with grades two through six from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. and older students from 5 to 6:15 p.m. Fee is $35 until July 24, then $45.
