UW-Ex, Spaceport promote STEM

Sheboygan County UW-Extension/4-H Youth Development Program, Spaceport Sheboygan and the Sheboygan County 4-H Leaders Association are proud to announce their collaborative efforts towards the 2015 Sheboygan County 4-H STEM Camp to be held at Spaceport Sheboygan. This camp is designed for students interested in developing skills in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math.

Sheboygan County 4-H STEM Camp will be held at Spaceport Sheboygan from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day from July 20 to July 24. This opportunity, open to all youth going into grades 6-8, will engage young people in cutting-edge STEM topics such as working and living in space, robotics, aviation and rocketry.

The experience will also give participants a glimpse of what a career in these industries would be like while they brainstorm ideas, solve problems and approach challenges using the scientific inquiry model.

This camp would not be possible without the sponsorship of local Sheboygan County businesses such as Acuity Insurance. Other local contributors include Rockline Industries, Curt G. Joa, and American Orthodontics.

Those interested in learning more about Sheboygan County 4-H STEM Camp or how they can help fund the program, may contact Maria Jesinski, Sheboygan County 4-H outreach assistant, at 920-459-5918.
