Horse adoption open house Aug. 22

“Hope for Hooves” will be held on Saturday, Aug. 22, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This event is the sixth annual fundraiser and open house at Amazing Grace Equine Sanctuary, a horse rescue and adoption facility located at W4985 County FF (just west of State 57) east of Elkhart Lake.

The event includes animals and exhibits by other rescue organizations, arts and crafts vendors, horse rides for children, live music, lasso clinic for kids, silent auction and raffles, plus a brat fry, vegan food, and treats. Horses that are up for adoption also will be shown. Free admission, parking $2 per vehicle.

The Amazing Grace Equine Sanctuary (AGES) was established in 2008 and is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization devoted to helping unwanted horses find new homes. AGES is verified by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries. Sixteen horses, a pony and a donkey currently live at AGES, some of them permanently due to physical limitations, but most are available for adoption.
