PHS JV loses baseball season finale

The Plymouth Panthers closed out their junior varsity baseball season July 11 with an 11-4 loss to visiting Port Washington.

PHS outhit the Pirates 11-9 but allowed seven walks and committed six errors.

Alec Struve, Taylor Struve, Austin Struve and Sam Miller led the Panthers in hits with two each. Taylor Struve ripped a triple. Ben Picard was the losing pitcher.

“These kids will become better team players with off-season work and dedication,” said PHS JV head coach Rory Beebe.

“They have improved, and their thought process and communication have gotten better. I want to thank assistant coach Todd Struve for his assistance this year.”

The Panthers lost their previous game, 4-2, July 10 at Kewaskum. PHS was held to only three hits – one each by Zach Kaiser, Taylor Struve and Miller. Taylor Struve cracked a double.

Brandon Keller pitched a complete game for PHS and had a strong performance, Keller allowed only three earned runs on eight hits with no strikeouts and just one walk.
