All is small at art trade fair

With thanks to the more than 150 artists who contributed, SVA – The Sheboygan Visual Artists – announced that they have topped their goal.

More than 300 Small Works will be available at the “Original Art for Everyone” event on Friday July 31st 4-8 pm at EBCO Art- Works,1201 Erie Avenue in Sheboygan, WI 53081

Small Works are original art creations in a variety of media, including paintings, photographs, molded paper, even pottery, fabric, glass, and jewelry.

“Wechose8 x10inchesfor the two-dimensional pieces so they would be convenient for folks to frame and display, to take home or even give to friends, relatives, or customers,” explains Tim Ebenreiter, Co-Chair of SVA’s Small Works Project.

“And to make them affordable for nearly anyone” adds Lisa Lehmann, the other Co-Chair. “Normally, work by some of these artists would cost several hundred dollars”.

Members of SVA are selling Claim Tickets for $20 each. Tickets also are conveniently available on the SVA website ( ), on the Chamber of Commerce “Monday Morning Monitor” e news side-bar and at Bookworm Gardens. Claim Tickets will also be available at the event for $25, if any are left by then.

On Friday, July 31, patrons will go to EBCO ArtWorks, 1201 Erie Ave., between 4 and 8 pm to redeem each ticket for a randomlyselected Small Work. “Then the fun begins!” promises Ebenreiter. “If you like your Small Work, guard it with your life. If you covet another, you might negotiate a trade with another patron. Or instantly select any Small Work you want from our Trading Wall in the main gallery.”

In the end, everyone wins,” claim the organizers, “because everyone gets a piece of original art and the proceeds support SVA Community Outreach projects like “Art in the Gardens” - July thru September, SVA artists conduct free art-making workshops for children and adults at Bookworm Gardens, 1415 Campus Drive, Sheboygan WI., and SVA “Kaleidoscope Art” a newly created program offering hands-on art making workshops for children and parents living in Sheboygan area shelters conducted at EBCO and alternately at area shelters.
