Blood drives planned in county

Sheboygan County blood donors can help patients in need at Blood- Center of Wisconsin’s upcoming blood drives. Donors can schedule an appointment by calling 1-877-BE-A-HERO (1-877-232-4376), or visiting

The blood drive schedule for August includes:

· Random Lake. Random Lake High School National Honor Society service project Saturday, Aug. 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Random Lake Fire Dept., 718 Spring St. The students encourage everyone to participate.

· Cascade. Cascade Community drive Tuesday, Aug. 18, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Lyndon Town Hall, W6081 County N.

· Sheboygan Falls. Monday, Aug. 24, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 730 County PPP.

Anyone 16 or older who is in general good health and meets eligibility requirements is encouraged to donate blood. Appointments are preferred to ensure a quick and convenient donation, but walk-in donors are also welcome. Parental consent is required for 16-year-olds to donate. The entire process takes about an hour.

Donors should bring a photo ID that includes birth date.
