Elkhart Lake TIF continues to move forward

ELKHART LAKE – The village’s fourth tax incremental district should come before the Village Board for approval later this month.

Village President Alan Rudnick told the board Monday that the Planning Commission held a public hearing on the TIF for the Wolf Motorsports project on Badger Road at their last meeting.

“We’re working on a draft developer’s agreement and recommended sending it to the board in August,” Rudnick said. A conditional use permit and planned unit development zoning for the development were tabled by the commission.

Premiere Development has asked if the proposed TIF could be expanded to include their nearby condo development west of Lincoln Street, Rudnick added. The village’s financial advisor will run the numbers on expanding the TIF and present those findings to the commission at their next meeting.

The village is also working on a developer’s agreement with Victory Realty for the commercial property that’s part of their proposed development north of Rhine Street and east of Lincoln.

The commercial lot is located at the south end of the development and will be home to a new veterinary clinic.

The board approved walkway permits for Aug. 17 and 20 for marketing events being hosted by Sargento and for Aug. 15 for the Lake Street Run event.

Village Administrator/Clerk/ Treasurer Jessica Reilly said the latter event would require moving the planters on the walkway for the runners and walkers.

Trustee Michael Wolf praised Pat Zorn of the Public Works Department for his work cleaning up debris after Sunday evening’s storm.

“He put in a lot of hours and cleared a lot of debris,” Wolf said of Zorn.

“He did do above and beyond the call of duty,” Rudnick agreed.
