End of WWII anniversary marked

The Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and the Aviation Heritage Center of Wisconsin invites the public to attend the Spirit of ’45 70th Anniversary Celebration, a commemorative celebration marking the 70th anniversary of the end of hostilities of the Second World War. The event will take place on Saturday, August 15, 2015 from 2 until 4 p.m. at the Aviation Heritage Center facility located at the Sheboygan County Memorial Airport. The airport entrance is located at the intersection of County Highways O and TT northwest of Sheboygan Falls.

The main focus will be to recognize the contributions of local WWII veterans and will include:

Wreath laying ceremony

Honor Guard, rifle salute and playing of Taps

WWII Veteran guest speakers

Thank you to veterans by local Scouts

Formation flyover of WWII-era T-6 aircraft

Educational exhibits

Video slideshow honoring local WWII veterans (both living and deceased)
