Golf Challenge to benefit students

The Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Education Foundation (ELGEF) and the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Athletic Association (ELGAA) will again join forces to hold their joint fundraising Golf Challenge event on October 3, 2015, at Quit Qui Oc Golf Course in Elkhart Lake.

The Golf Challenge is a 9-hole or 18-hole scramble that includes hole and team prizes, refreshments, appetizers, raffles and wonderful silent auction items. The event, in its 9th year, having raised more than $90,000, promises to be a fun-filled day that brings the community together in support of our missions.

ELGAA provides youth sports programs to local families in our community. In addition to the sports programs, ELGAA built and maintains the June Vollrath Park. It is their mission to help the youth of this community maintain a healthy lifestyle, and develop positive selfesteem, leadership skills and team building concepts that will help prepare them for the future.

ELGEF supports the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah School District in its mission to provide a caring and innovative learning environment for all of our children. Their main focus is to enrich student academic endeavors and encourage wellrounded students through community and extracurricular activities.

Funds raised by the Golf Challenge will assist ELGAA with the ongoing operating expenses related to maintenance and necessary improvements at June Vollrath Park. In addition, funds will also be used to enhance our sports programs and provide financial support to families who otherwise would be unable to participate due to financial hardship. ELGEF will benefit equally by using funds raised to make financial and other resources available to the school district to enhance the educational opportu- nities and related activities that are not ordinarily provided for through the district’s operating budget.

A partial list of current athletic association projects/foundation grants completed by the two organizations with funds raised from previous outings include:
