Willeford on All-EWC golf first team

Sophomore Jake Willeford of Plymouth earned All-Eastern Wisconsin Conference boys golf first-team honors for the 2015 season.

Willeford was a second-team player as a freshman. The Panthers’ other All-EWC selections are senior Zach Gambrell on the second team and freshman Cade Knaus, honorable mention.

Junior Matt Bachmann of Sheboygan Falls was selected the EWC’s Player of the Year for the second straight season. Bachmann won six of the seven conference mini-meets and was the co-medalist in the EWC 18-hole tournament with Falcon teammate Tyler Beeck, a junior.

Bachmann and Beeck led the Falcons to their fourth straight EWC tourney and overall championships this year. Beeck and Bachmann repeated as first-team golfers. The other first-team players are seniors George Lemmenes and Logan De Maa of Waupun.

The all-league teams are based on points accumulated through individual placings in the the EWC mini-meets and tournament. Bachmann scored an EWC-high 88 points, 37 ahead of the second-highest point-getter.
