Panthers dominate in season-opening win

SHEBOYGAN – The Plymouth Panthers won 10 of the 12 events as they breezed past Sheboygan South, 138-39, in a girls swimming and diving dual meet here Tuesday night.

The nonconference meet was the Panthers’ season opener.

Sophomore Katy Coley was a double-winner to lead PHS. Coley finished first in the 100-yard freestyle in 1 minute, .17 seconds and the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:08.86. Coley also swam on the winning 200 medley and 400 freestyle relay teams.

“I’m happy with the results. We had some really nice performances. It was a good first meet,” said new Panther head coach Clare Sedlacek.

Senior Lillian Stenz captured both of the Redwings’ first places. She won the 200 individual medley in 2:32.53 and the 100 breaststroke with a 1:17.14 clocking.
