Deborah A. Prening, 54, of Plymouth, WI passed away early Wednesday evening (August 26, 2015) at her home.

A limb has fallen from the family tree. Grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter and song. I lived a good life while I was strong. Continue my heritage; I’m counting on you! Keep smiling and the sun will shine thru. My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest. Remember how I’ve been blessed. Continue traditions no matter how small. Go on with your life. I’ll miss you all dearly until the day we meet again.

Debbie was born on June 25, 1961 in Milwaukee, WI, daughter of the late Mathias and Evelyn (Bauer) Wachal. Debbie graduated from West Allis Central High School in 1979. On March 22, 1980, she married Bill Prening and they soon started their family.

Debbie loved taking care of her family; her husband, children, grandchildren and her parents before they passed away. She would like to thank her family for taking care of her now.

She enjoyed cooking, sharing her famous recipes and having family dinners at her home. She loved making people laugh and surprising them with gifts. She also enjoyed spending time at their cabin up north.

Debbie was employed at the Bemis Manufacturing in Sheboygan Falls for 26 years and was very proud of her accomplishments there.

After her son, USMC Corporal Brian Prening died; she became a Gold Star Mother and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #243 in Plymouth. Debbie met the nicest people in the worst of ways and she thanks them all for their love and support.

Debbie had a short but eventful life, one hurdle after another, cancer being the biggest. She said that you never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have. She felt that she had been blessed in so many ways and had a good life.

She is survived by her loving husband: BiIl; one son: Bill Prening Jr. of Sheboygan Falls; one daughter: Ann (Michael) Knowles of Plymouth; two grandchildren: Brian Prening Jr. and Olivia Ann Knowles. Debbie is also survived by other extended family and many friends.

As per Big Deb’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private gravesite service will be held at a later date. A memorial fund has been established in Debbie’s name.

Suchon Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Plymouth is serving the family. For online condolences, please visit

The family would like to thank Dr. Bettag and his team of angels and the staff at St. Nicholas Home Care and Hospice for all the care and compassion given to Debbie.
