Gatz ran for 181 yards and four touchdowns on only seven carries. Senior running back Billy Adams chipped in with 119 yards rushing on just seven attempts. The Dutchmen racked up a whopping 451 yards on the ground.

The Dutchmen improved to 1-1 in the Big East (1-1 overall). The Tigers fell to 0-2 in league play (0-2 overall).

Gatz set the tone for Oostburg when he raced 48 yards for a TD on his team’s first play from scrimmage. Gatz ran for three TDs in the first half to lead the Dutchmen to a 39-0 halftime advantage.

“The Tigers had a rough time Friday night slowing down the powerful Oostburg running at- tack,” said Tiger head coach David Schmid.

“We also struggled to move the ball on the ground and throwing the ball was difficult in the steady rain. We will work hard this week to improve and get ready for the Hilbert Wolves [on Friday night in Big East play].”

The Tigers’ lone TD came on a 16-yard pass from quarterback Travis Stanczyk to wide receiver Josh Scheuren in the fourth quarter.
