Panthers unable to dent Eagles’ defense

SHEBOYGAN – The Plymouth Panthers were unable to capitalize on scoring opportunities as they lost, 2-0, to Sheboygan Christian/ Lutheran in a battle of area boys soccer powers here Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles upped their record to 7-1. The nonconference loss dropped the Panthers’ record to 7-2-1.

Christian/Lutheran led 1-0 at halftime on a goal by junior forward Brandon Wishman, assisted by Mathias Otten.

Muzii Kahn scored a big insurance goal in the second half with an assist from Wishman.

PHS led 4-3 in shots on goal. Eagle goalkeeper Nick Falconer made four saves. Cole Bogenschuetz and Saunders Gentine played in the goal for PHS.

“Playing against Sheboygan Christian is always fun. We know it’s always going to be a difficult and a competitive game, and today was no different,” said PHS head coach Rommy Herrera.

“The first 25 minutes in the first half we were better. We were passing well and controlling the ball on their side and also creating opportunities to score. However, we just couldn’t [score]. Sheboygan Christian defended well.”
