KLF girls swim team places second at Port

PORT WASHINGTON - The Kohler/Sheboygan Lutheran/ Sheboygan Falls girls swimming team took second place at the 12-team Port Washington Pirate Invitational Saturday, Sept. 19.

West Bend West won the event with 415 points, KLF was second with 390, Racine Case finished third with 333.5 and Plymouth came in fourth with 260.

KLF registered seven first place finishes, including all three relay events.

Finishing first in the 200 medley relay were Kara Friske, Jenna Silvestri, Brooke Casper and Emma Herold with a time of 1:55.52.

The 200 freestyle relay team of Ashley Dedering, Elaina Falconer, Madeline Wandschneider, and Kellie Hoekstra was victorious in a time of 1:48.6 and the 400 freestyle relay team of Hoekstra, Silvestri, Dedering and Herold placed first in 3:47.20.

Herold (Kohler) finished with two individual first place finishes in the 50 freestyle (25.22) and 100 freestyle (54.63).

Sophomore Jenna Silvestri (Kohler) added two individual victories in the 200 IM (2:15.01) and 100 breaststroke (1:10.86).

Other top finishers for KLF were Friske (Kohler), who was third in the 100 butterfly and second in the 100 backstroke.

Casper (Sheboygan Falls) placed sixth in the 100 butterfly and fourth 100 in the backstroke.

Hoekstra (Kohler) finished second in the 50 freestyle and third in the 100 freestyle.

Dedering (Sheboygan Falls) wound up ninth in the 50 freestyle and seventh in the 100 freestyle.
